The Fluted Oval Coffee Table, Travertine
Cut to order in Tivoli. Six weeks from quarry to your floor. White-glove delivery included.
The Doric order placed fluting on columns to catch light, to create a rhythm of shadow at architectural scale. Here, the same logic is applied at domestic scale.
The column legs of this coffee table are carved from Roman travertine. The fluting channels run the full height of each leg, each one cut by hand. In direct light, the grooves read as a shadow pattern. In diffused light, they dissolve into the stone's warm ground. The oval top softens the formality of the classical reference.
Travertine from Tivoli carries a specific warmth — ivory and caramel tones with natural pitting where the stone's original gas pockets remain open. The surface is honed matte. Not polished. Not sealed. The stone breathes.
Set in a living room beside a linen sofa, the table reads as an object that was always going to be there.
