Terms of Service

Welcome to Tobia Stones. These Terms govern your access to and use of www.tobia-stones.com and the purchase of our pieces. By engaging with our website or placing an order, you agree to the terms below.

1. Our Pieces

Tobia Stones produces architectural furniture cut from natural stone, principally travertine quarried in Tivoli, Italy, and marble quarried in Carrara. Each piece is unique. Variations in tone, veining, porosity, texture, and surface marking are natural characteristics of stone. They are not defects.

2. Made to Order

Pieces are produced to order against a specific block. Orders may be cancelled within 24 hours of order confirmation for a full refund with no fee. After that window, cutting begins and the order cannot be cancelled, although the piece may still be returned after delivery under section 5.

3. Pricing & Payment

All prices are displayed in USD. Full payment is required before production begins. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, with a full refund.

4. Delivery & Inspection

Because of the weight of solid stone, delivery is made by a specialist two-person white-glove service. Delivery timeframes are estimates. On receipt the client must inspect the piece, note any visible damage on the delivery document, and notify us within 48 hours with photographs. Damage reported after 48 hours may not be eligible as a transit claim, but a manufacturing defect remains claimable for 30 days under section 5.

5. Returns & Cancellations

Our full terms are set out in the Return & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary:

Cancellation: within 24 hours of order confirmation, full refund, no fee.
Change of mind: returns accepted within 14 days of delivery, piece unused and repacked in its original crate. Return freight is at the customer's expense, typically $300 to $500, and a 25% restocking fee applies.
Damage in transit: report within 48 hours. We replace the piece and pay all freight. No restocking fee.
Manufacturing defect: claim within 30 days. Replacement or full refund, we pay the return freight. No restocking fee.

Natural variation in tone, veining and porosity is not a defect. A stone sample is available before ordering for exactly this reason.

6. Care

Travertine is limestone-based and will etch on contact with acids, including lemon, vinegar, wine and coffee. Tobia Stones is not liable for damage resulting from misuse, inadequate maintenance, or exposure to unsuitable conditions. Care instructions accompany every piece.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tobia Stones is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of our products.
