Edition 001Block WCT-2025-001·Extracted Q3 2024Tivoli quarry, Roman region

A single continuous mass of Nero Marquina — quarried from the mountains of the Basque Country, cut into a perfect circle and set atop a tapered stone cone. The form is precise: no joint, no attachment, no concession to lightness. Two elements in the same material, the same vein, the same weight.

The disc surface is polished to mirror depth. White veins cross the black ground in geological time, each slab unrepeatable. The edge, beveled by hand, catches light as a curved horizon.

The conical base narrows toward the floor with architectural authority. Its silhouette reads from across the room before the details register. This is the geometry of certainty — a form with no hesitation in it.

Placed in the center of a room, the Disc draws a circle of attention around itself. Objects placed on the surface — a monograph, a ceramic — acquire the gravity of specimens in a vitrine.
