Black marble does not absorb light. It refuses it. The Monolith Basin is carved from Nero Marquina — black marble from the Basque quarries of northern Spain, with white mineral veining that forms under specific tectonic pressure. The white lines are calcium carbonate intrusions. They run without direction or repetition.

The form is a single trumpet pedestal rising from the floor. The basin is carved into the top — not placed on top, not mounted, carved. There is no visible hardware housing in the stone itself. The object is complete before the faucet arrives.

In a white bathroom, the stone reads as absolute. The contrast is not decorative — it is geological. What the walls are made of. What the earth is made of. The difference between them.

A pedestal sink in black marble is not a purchase. It is a decision about what the bathroom is for.
